This was a challenging tournament. Even though they had 3 games on Saturday, they rose to the challenge of each opponent and came away with an impressive record of 3-0, 10-0, and 2-1 to advance them to the championship round. On the day of the final round, the 96 girls first had to compete in a league game before they could battle for the title of champion; and what a battle it was. Each team fought hard but the Texas Spirit pulled ahead in the second half to a 2-1 lead and was able to keep their opponent from taking the game into overtime.

Congratulations to the Texas Spirit 96 Girls for their hard earned victory at the 2011 King Tut Tournament. They faced many obstacles and tough opponents for a 2-1, 8-0, 3-0, 2-2 record. The toughest opponent was the oppressive heat. The average temperature for 3 out of the 4 games was 101, with a heat index of 105 degrees.
